FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: What is your philosophy regarding photography?

A: Please click here to learn more about Jessica Loya!

Q: How do I reserve you for my date? Is there a fee required for bookings?

A: In order to reserve our services, we require an up-front payment of 25% of the cost of your package as well as a signed contract at the time of reservation. This allows us to reserve your date so no one else can book that day and time. The remaining 75% is due 30 days before your scheduled event/photoshoot. If your request is within 30 days of your event/photoshoot, then the full payment for your package is due upon booking. Once you make the initial payment and sign the contract, the date is yours!

Q: If we need to cancel or reschedule our date, will we receive our money back or be able to carry it over to a new date?

A: The 25% retainer fee described above becomes non-refundable for cancellations within 6 months of your event. Although we always strive to be accommodating, a new date can not be promised or guaranteed.

Q: Do you deliver every image you shoot?

A: We do not deliver every single image that we shoot, as we take a large amount of photos in order to sort through and deliver you the very best.

Q: How many images do you typically deliver?

A: Please refer to your selected package to see the breakdown of the amount of photos you can expect to receive.

Q: When can we expect to see our photos?

A: Although we always strive to get your photos back to you as soon as possible, you can expect to receive your final gallery within 2-6 weeks after your event/photoshoot. Portrait sessions are normally closer to 2 weeks, where as weddings and large events are closer to 4-6 weeks. For weddings, we provide the bride and groom a few instant photos with 24 hours of your event so you have something to share on your special day, the remaining delivered within the timelines outlined above.

Q: What do you mean by “touching up” the photos?

A: Post-production includes touch ups such as exposure and color adjustments, removal of fly-away hairs, etc. Editing is normally not extensive due to the fact that we strive to take the best quality photos with our attention to detail on the day of your event/photoshoot. Any special custom post-production editing requested by a client that requires extensive extra time will result in additional fees.

Q: Do you provide videography services?

A: As we specialize in photography, we currently do not offer any traditional videography services at this time.

Q: What happens if we go over the contracted amount of time?

A: We understand that not everything goes as planned during a wedding. We never pack up before the contracted time, and moreover, we’re not leaving on the dot when the contracted time is up. Instead, we will ask you at the end of your contracted time whether or not you would like to extend. If you would like us to stay, we will charge the rates specified in your contract rounded to the closest 30-minute increment.

Q: Do you have any suggestions for what I should wear for my portrait/engagement photo session?

A: Although your outfit choices are fully up to you, we suggest that you consider avoiding small busy patterns and also making sure your clothes are wrinkle free. Small busy patterns can often be distracting in an image, and due to the high quality of our photos, wrinkles can sometimes stand out and can be obvious. Feel free to bring accessories and outfit changes to diversify your look. Most importantly, wear what makes you feel best and most confident!

Q: Can I bring someone to my photoshoot?

A: Absolutely! It’s great to have a partner, friend, or family with you for moral support and to help you feel more comfortable during your shoot. However, there will be additional fees for any added individuals who wish to be included in the photos if it was not planned for beforehand or included in your original contract.

Q: What type of camera equipment do you use?

A: Jessica shoots with high quality professional Nikon camera equipment, specifically the Nikon Z7 and Nikon D750, as well as a large range of Nikon lenses. She also brings professional lighting and other accessories when needed to ensure you have the best quality photos possible.

Q: Are there travel fees associated with my shoot?

A: Depending on the distance of your event, there may be travel fees associated with your booking. In order to be flexible and meet our clients half way, we do not charge for travel within the first 100 miles (round-trip). After 100 miles, we charge the current federal mileage rate to cover the costs associated with longer travel, which is 65.5 cents per mile.

Please note that any extended travel for both domestic, international, and destination weddings that would require an overnight stay will be assessed additional fees to cover travel, lodging, meal stipends, etc.

Q: Do you provide album and print services?

A: Although most packages include electronic delivery of images in the form of an online downloadable gallery as well as a USB drive (large events) containing all of the physical image files, we do offer album and print services, but only for large events, weddings, and engagements. Please request our wedding pricing guide for a more specific breakdown.
